Foty Lock & Safe specializes in making first keys for older vehicles both foreign and domestic.

The newer vehicles present several challenges in fitting first keys.

General motors vehicles with standard, VATS or transponder technologies can have first keys made for them. The VATS equipped vehicles (you can see the chip on the side of the key) can be completed by several methods.

General Motors vehicles equipped with transponder (electronics hidden inside the plastic head of the key) can be programmed using the vehicle’s on-board computer.

Most other transponder equipped vehicles, where all keys have been lost, require special equipment to make a "FIRST" key.

Older Ford vehicles equipped with transponders require a cooperative effort between Foty Lock & Safe and the Ford dealership. Foty Lock & Safe will make the mechanical key and Ford will perform the transponder portion using a NGS programmer which will result in a completed key for the customer.

Chrysler vehicles equipped with a transponder require the use of a DART programmer.
